Moscow School 45 first opened its doors in 1958. In 1965 the school got its status as a magnet school offering students English language from the first grade. In 1996 the school became the first state school in Russia which was authorised to offer International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. Today Moscow School 45 is one of the most famous schools not only in Moscow but also in Russia .

Language of Instruction : The main language of instruction at school is Russian. In IB Diploma Programme the language of instruction is English. All students beginning with the fifth grade study French, German or Spanish.

Curriculum: The school is known for its individualised college-preparatory curriculum which is based on the unique needs and characteristics of young adolescents. Our students are enrolled in a core set of academic courses supplemented by a wide range of electives. Our staff strive to provide quality classroom instruction which enhances students' motivation, skills, and creative thinking. In addition, we have strong after school sports, music and drama programs, in which all students are encouraged to take part.

School Facilities : The School has 40 instructional areas, 3 science laboratories, a sports complex (including sports field, double gymnasium and an indoor swimming pool), a multimedia center, and a cafeteria. The School is totally computer networked.

Computer facilities : The school encourages all students to develop skills both for study purposes and to prepare for the world of work. The school computer lab is equipped with Macintosh and PC computers and networked laser printers.

The Media Center : the Media Center is a comprehensive learning center where ideas in their multi-media and diverse forms are housed, used, and serviced. The Center is designed to promote and support independent reading and learning at all educational levels.

The Media Center houses a collection of over 35,000 volumes. The school subscribes to approximately 30 periodicals.
